About Hatley Hall

Mr. Earl Hatley, an Oklahoma City developer and Nazarene layman at Oklahoma City First Church, provided major funding for the construction of this dormitory for women. Occupied first in 1970, the building further accents the vital importance of individual laymen's philanthropy in the development of SNU.

Hatley Hall is primarily the home of freshman women, with one floor of private rooms for qualifying upper class women. Along with spacious rooms, there is a comfortable lobby conducive to studying, playing games or visiting with friends. Laundry facilities along with a meeting/social area are available in the basement of Hatley Hall. Each floor also has an end room with microwave ovens and study tables.

Hatley Hall is more than a residence hall. It is a community within the campus. Resident advisors live on each floor to assist students with the adjustment from home to residence hall life. The RAs also provide friendship and mentorship to these new students. Soon students are not new and have become part of the family. Hatley Hall hosts an annual Thanksgiving Feast prepared by the Residnece Life Staff for the Hatley family. Hatley residents also reach out to the community with events like the October "Hatloween" that provides children two to twelve with a safe and inviting environment to trick or treat.
